GreatNonprofits is providing a new approach to nonprofit evaluation by providing a simple, fast and free "bottom-up" evaluation tool.

People who have first-hand experience with a nonprofit -- its beneficiaries, volunteers, donors and board members -- can submit reviews of their experience with the nonprofit. Like a TripAdvisor or Amazon book reviews for nonprofits, it enables members of the community to share their feedback.

GreatNonprofits is powering reviews on GuideStar.org, where more than a million nonprofits can now be rated and reviewed.  GreatNonprofits calls itself the leader in evaluation on a "human-scale." It moves away misleading overhead ratios and towards a more human and tangible assessment of impact.

Reviewers can leave constructive criticism and nonprofits can respond to reviews.  Many nonprofits have found that these vivid reviews are helpful to attracting supporters.
